Dating back to the 1880’s, the Old Fashioned has become a timeless classic.  Typically consisting of muddled sugars, bitters and whiskey, American Kitchen’s Chef Roldan has put his own twist on one of the world’s first cocktails. This sweet take on an Old-Fashioned is easy to make at home with the following recipe:
Brandy Old-Fashioned Sweet
  • 1.12 oz. Maraschino Cherry Juice
  • 2 tsp. Water
  • 2 tsp. Orange Juice
  • 1 tsp. Bitters
  • 1.5 oz. Brandy
  • Splash of Lemon-Lime Soda
  • Orange Slice Garnish
  • Maraschino Cherry Garnish

Directions:
1.To begin, combine 1.12 oz Maraschino Cherry Juice, 2 tsp Water, 2 tsp Orange Juice and 1.5 oz Brandy in an Old-Fashioned Glass over ice.
2.Add 1 tsp of Bitters, stir until the glass is chilled and the flavors are married together.
3.Top with a splash of Lemon-Lime Soda.
4.Garnish with an Orange Slice and Maraschino Cherry Garnish.
With its tropical notes and refreshing taste, Chef Roldan’s Brandy Old-Fashioned Sweet is the perfect toast to summer.
